What We Do  우리가 하는일 


 

Mission

1.  Speak for the freedom and human rights of the suffering people in North Korea who cannot speak for themselves

2.  Support the programs of rescuing North Korean defectors who are hiding and suffering in China

3.  Assist North Korean defectors in resettling in the U.S.

4.  Engaged in campaigns to pressure the Chinese government to stop forcibly repatriating North Korean defectors

5.  Engage in publicity campaigns to counter the propaganda activities by pro-North Korea groups of Korean American citizens residing in the U.S.

6. Conduct ideological campaigns against the powerful leftist political forces, which have been undercutting the conservative South Korean government and weakening its ability to deal with North Korea

7.  Provide recommendations toward promoting strong and proactive North Korea policies for both the U.S. and South Korean governments

 

Activities

1.  Sponsor public events, such as lectures and seminars in conjunction with other conservative (bosu) NGOs   

2.  Initiate or participate in activities, such as conferences and protest demonstrations, to promote freedom in North Korea  

3.  Support activities to rescue North Korean defectors from China and to assist in the resettlement of the successful defectors in concert with other human rights organizations

4.  Publish papers and opinion articles in major newspapers and journals in the U.S. and South Korea

5.  Run paid advertisements in newspapers, magazines, and TVs in support of freedom and democracy (for both Koreas and for a unified Korea) and against the leftist movements by Korean Americans in the U.S.

6.  Conduct the signature collection campaign for prosecuting Kim Jong-Il at the International Criminal Court

7.  Operate a bilingual (Korean and English) Internet website, www.KoreanFreedom.org, through which the following programs will be carried out:  

           a)  Provide information about KFDL (incl. photos, videos)

           b)  The Opinion section, in which articles or letters written by KFDL members as well as outside contributors will be posted (This is the most unique and provocative activity of KFDL)  

           c)  Republication of excellent articles that have appeared elsewhere that can potentially contributive to the strengthening of the U.S. and South Korean policies toward North Korea

           d)  Photos, drawings, and videos about North Korea, North Korean defectors, and about various activities carried out for human rights in North Korea
